Committee reports

Conferences/Events/Chapters activities report (Powers)

LOPSA Cascadia 2017: March 10,11. Contract cutoff:(?) (Kacoroski,Uphill,Globermann,English,Powers)

  • Concerned about number of Cascadia attendees (40 total including 12 presenters and 6 that registered but have not paid)
  • Ski: LinkedIn Ads appear to have been working reasonably well. We only pay for conversions. Conversions we (think) we've gotten should have been well worth it for Cascadia.

SCALE'17 (Kacoroski)

  • Everything is set for March 3 - 5th. I have swag, tickets, and booth supplies. Just need to print up some literature to hand out. Should I do a discount or something at the booth.
  • Decision: for all future events, we'll do a $10 discount on membership at the event.

Education (on hold)

Speakers Bureau (on hold)

Marketing/Communications (LOPSAgram, #lopsa-live, etc) (English, Uphill)

  • LOPSAgram went out
    • Didn't mention SCALE, oops. Sent out Social stuff promoting SCALE and scheduled additional Social messages
    • Didn't include Statement On Immigration Order as it wasn't ready yet. Expect this to go out as a standalone email - am I doing that? (Paul?)
  • It is ALL about Cascadia marketing now. Thomas put up posters. Paul emailing all the lists/boards. Ski prepped Social and we're doing one or more Social posts per day.
  • NEXT LOPSAgram - aiming to send Monday March 6, with a final Cascadia push.

Technical Services Report (Beech, VanDevender)

Migrated our slack to lopsa.slack.com! Did some prep to open it up. The next step is to get our tax documents in order and register for their non profit program. That gives us the standard tier for free.

Mentorship Report (Beech)

Started looking at outsourced options to run the mentorship program - looking at management software.

Have one more thing to look at will bring a full report to the board after the list is narrowed.

We have someone who has reached out to help with the comittee. I need to follow up.

Locals (/Chapters)

  • George: Who can get this Committee going again? - Scott: I'll get started.
  • George: Meetup does have nonprofit pricing for their "Pro" product.
    • $15/group/mo (down from $35/group/mo)
    • Can bring existing groups in
    • Need our non-profit status fully up to date
    • Scott: make sure we have existing Locals that want to use it
    • Paul: What tools provided? Scott: can contact all the leaders, co-organizers, subchairs. Can reach "all members of all meetups" (if they opt-in) Works well.
    • Paul: this would allow us to reach non-LOPSA-members for advertising conferences, LOPSA membership itself. Very useful!

Recognition (Uphill, Disney)

Leadership Committee (Warner, Kacoroski)

  • Warner still looking for candidates
